Canyon Start 7:45 am Canyon end 2:15 pm
Canyon with the Greeks (11 people; we know Patti, Demetria, Lydia, Stella), Elke, and Michael. Guided rappels were set for almost every station. The Greeks also set all rappels with a figure 8 device at the top so that slack can be fed if the rappeller gets stuck or otherwise needs more rope. The Greeks use a different whistle system than the Germans 1 whistle = stop (both); 2 = off rappel (Greeks); 3=more rope (Greeks); 4=take rope up (both). Guess it is always important to talk about signals before each canyon. The leader was Vasillis. It is also important with identify the leader of the canyon with a Greek group.

BY KEN: the approach with the Greeks.
At the top we were so disappointed as the group in front of us was the French group from the first day, so slow. It was pretty funny as we gave them a head start before starting the canyon. Can a group of 11 be faster than a group of 6?

Some locals came and did some dancing.
This dancing turned into get the white people up and dance. Yes, that’s Anja in the green dancing with the short Nepalese man. Clearly I should feel threatened.
